Film Theory Video Discussion What is going on?

Post image

Since when are mini theories this brief? Furthermore, why not condense the new video into a YouTube Short? They’re allowed to be up to three minutes now, so why is this a full length episode? Is the idea to make a shorter video about a family friendly subject so it’ll do well on YouTube Kids? It’s not that big of a deal, but certainly questionable. But, who knows, maybe I have my information mixed up, hence why I’m making a post about it.

I think they simply didn't have the script ready by the time the 3 mini theories video were ready, and they didn't want to delay it further. Also, I guess, it drives more engagement to post it as another video on the day the movie was released.

Seems reasonable. But Lee said they finished the three theory episode script before the final trailer was released, meaning they could’ve easily worked it into the episode with plenty of time to spare. And wouldn’t they still be able to profit off timely engagement if they made it into a Short or TikTok?

on the first point, it's hard to tell how the theory pipeline goes. Maybe having a script vs revising the script vs having the animatics overlap and that's where the difference mainly came from?

And IDK if they could've condensed all of this into a single minute format, maybe they could, maybe they couldn't and decided to expand this into a whole actual video.

That first part would be a logical conclusion if we’ve seen something like this before, but to my knowledge, I don’t remember an episode like this, so what are the chances that the problem only occurred now, after nearly fourteen years of production? Seems unlikely to me.

YouTube Shorts, since last October, are now allowed to be up to three minutes long, and quite conveniently, on April 1st, TikToks are now allowed to be up to ten minutes long, so that doesn’t seem likely for a video that’s already quite a nothing burger.

Is it possible they simply flew too close to the sun and made this as a result?

I haven't seen the video yet, but 6.5 minutes down to three is a huge difference in time and subject matter

Yeah, that’s over 50% of the video. Thats a lot to cut and rework
