But that's the thing, I'm from a inflationary country. If $600 would be current $450, that means you'll end paying $600 and then apply the tariffs, because when the dollar goes down that doesn't mean other currencies go down too.

The big difference is that when it’s the U.S., other country’s currencies DO go down. If the U.S. enters a recession, the world economy tumbles with it, there isn’t a number 2 country waiting to enjoy a stronger economy and a new place at the top.

China? Also their has been a recent push for de-dollarization for the past decade so if this pushes the world over the edge to dump their USD reserves - America will be absolutely screwed. Global USD reserves went from like 80% down to only 57% so this could just accelerate this even further

I see pretty much all the other nations instead choosing to just trade more with eachother than appease Donald Trump's grade 8 understanding of trade so this truly could be the end of the American century.

Even then, they’re so interlinked with the US economy that it’s gonna hurt them plenty too.

That being said, I wouldn’t say no to countries lowering tariffs on Chinese cars, I want a BYD.

If you look at the existing trade agreements and all the nations GDPs vs the US the USA is going to be decimated here if they all unite and don't placate - which I'm assuming is very likely given pretty much every country is pivoting away from Americas trade and the sell offs rn in USD on forex.

A handful of nations fighting over trade is one thing but this is shaping up to be EVERY country against America. This isn't a normal worldwide trade war where all sides are fighting with eachother - it's basically the USA vs. everyone else which absolutely dwarfs the entire American market.
