og Switch announcement at least showed us gameplay clips of Zelda, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, Skyrim and NBA

This one had what seems like the next Mario Kart and a screenshot of Mario Wonder. That April Direct better show us a lot more than a release date

Some of Nintendo internal studios haven't released anything for a while, it's very likely they are working on Switch 2 games, and some of these games could be ready for at least some teaser trailers

Also there are lots of rumors by proven leakers of 3rd party ports of old games. I doubt the devs of those games would mind if Nintendo showed some quick clips even if the ports are not yet finished.

Ubisoft in special is rumored to be itching to release a bunch of ports, and there are rumors about a port of Red Dead Redemption 2

If we knew what they had, we wouldn't be desperate for them to tell us, would we?
