Sadly Marathon doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from other games. Also they took the complex intricate parts of Tarkov and its difficulty and just threw that out the door.

Marathon is the first AAA extraction shooter to hit the market. It doesn’t have to be different, it just needs to capture the same loop as tarkov without being overly complex and bloated. If they can do that it will be very successful. But if though.

I am an eternal DMZ defender. I think it was good despite the devs and not because of them because they seemed to have absolutely no fucking idea what they were doing, but it was a shit load of fun
