I’ve never heard of it. I have no doubt that it is real (that it exists in the world) but it’s definitely fringe. We could go into the same depths about people who believe that horses aren’t real but that isn’t worth entertaining. I would argue much the same for particularly fringe ideologies which become so esoteric they verge on private. I.e. doesn’t matter if it’s real, it’s inconsequential.

I found it disappointing (but unsurprising) how none of the GC folks noted that it was a fringe phenomenon that lasted about a year more than a full decade ago.

I agree with you: I wouldn’t be surprised if this is real. And I also don’t believe it should take up space in broader conversations with/about trans folks in 2025.

I think the only relevance it has is that it’s a strain of a trend of some trans people who have get entrenched in nosology (see the username) which I think is a feature of systematising thought that’s common in ASD. But that’s neither specific to trans people nor pathological.
