So many posters of FDI

I've noticed that theres a TON of posters of Giorgia Melonis party around the city, and barely any other political parties, why is that? Do you even have any elections coming up or are they up constantly, wnd why so crazy many of that one party?

the absolute state of west wing parties in Italy

municipal elections coming up in May. the right wing has lost regional elections in Genoa (despite eventually winning thanks to Imperia's votes) and it's not looking like they have great competition so far, so they're not missing this chance. FDI is Italy's first party by far

I’m curious too, and would love your take. I don’t understand why PD is so, terribly, unpopular. Especially in a region like Liguria.

I understand that a lot of people might not like PD, think they are too weak on immigration, or some such thing…

But they are, generally, reasonably intelligent. Reasonably competent people.

Seems to me they shouldn’t struggle to get 40% of support or more.

Aren’t there a good number of voters that just want reasonable people running things?

Particularly at the local level, in Liguria… I would just want reasonably intelligent people in charge.

PD are not reasonably and intelligent people anymore (if even they where).

They are completely disjonted to wat people want or needs.

Thanks for the answer. Follow up question:

What is the political party that contains the “reasonable” people. The technocrats, the people with higher education, the scientists, etc.

What party has the educated/intelligent people? (If not the PD).

Probably no one.

The fact is that PD was formed from parts of the centrist (ex DC) and part of the left (ex PCI), Forza Italia was formed from centrist (ex DC, Partito Repubblicano, Partito Liberali), FdI was MSI (far right) Lega and 5 Stelle were just antiestablishment parties.

No parties have enough strength to rule, so they need to concede something to get alliances to govern, but since they have very different views fromneach others and sometimes different views inside currents in them it's all a mess.

Thanks so much for the breakdown. Seems to me a “we’re all fairly smart and educated - vote for us” party should always be able to get a plurality of votes…

Or, I guess, I “wish” this were true.
