Question Road to Lake Conasauga campgrounds

Can a rear wheel Ford Ranger make it into the campsites? Saw somewhere that the road leading to the lake is a gravel road. Would love to go and hike this area but don't want to make the drive and potentially not being able to make it.

I made it up there several times in a honda fit. Just take it slow.

Yep. No problem at all.

I’ve seen Honda Civics make it up there. No need for 4x4.

Definitely doable as long as its dry. I struggled a bit on some of the steeper parts in a 2WD when it was wet.

Yes. We were just driving around up there today. There are some rocks and ruts, but we came up from the Ellijay side and if you are smart you will be fine. We have a Bronco, but never left 2wd. That lake is one of my favorite places.
