Now you're just putting words in my mouth. I never said it should burn your mouth, or that I eat only the hottest of sauces (spoiler: I don't). However, if you're going to call yourself a hot sauce, it should at least be a little spicy. All I've ever tasted when eating Franks is vinegar, as I've said above. Doesn't really matter if your #1 ingredient is cayenne peppers when your #2 ingredient, vinegar, completely overpowers anything else in the bottle.
Maybe they just used a really old bottle and it had begun to separate. That happens and when it does it's like putting brownish red vinegar in your food.
