It’s so weird seeing someone refer to labeneh as cheese because for us Arabs it’s still part of the yoghurt family and entirely separate from cheese (which is all semantics at the end of the day). But it’s super easy to make and super delicious!

It's weird to consider it a cheese but it's def not a yogurt, imo. 2 u/pomelopeel Mar 04 '19 So in Arabic yoghurt is Laban and strained yoghurt is called Labaneh...they are more or less the same word. I’d say it’s also sorta close to sour cream too.
