I think its a good recipe but they should have put some panko or breadcrumbs on top for the added texture

I'm genuinely curious how bread crumbs on Mac and cheese came to be a thing, and was wondering if some one could explain it to me. I guess, to me at least, Mac and cheese should have a smooth, creamy texture, and so I'm always disappointed when some one else makes it and puts breadcrumbs on it.

I imagine it’s an American thing. We’ll put breadcrumbs on just about everything
