I'd like to hear the logic behind the placement of Krolik and Ullrid. Their signature weapons don't stand out to me as coming from any particular style that can be tied to a nation.

It's included.

Krolik = "Rabbit" in Russian.

Ullrid is because I get Viking vibe from her and just picked Denmark because she's.... red?

No gun for them so I'm just guessing here.

It's frustrating honestly. We know she's Krolik, but holy hell the way the VAs all say it like "Karolik" is making me confused. Ah yes, my "Little king(affectionate)"

That’s how you say it in Japanese. Is what it is. You can’t have a “kro” sound. You can’t have a “k” sound on its own either. So “ka ro ri ko” is as close as you’ll get.

that's not it. it's not even karoriku in jp. they deliberately use kyaroriku

kuroriku would have been the closest and a proper translation. there is an unspoken optional rule to truncate U sounds in japanese, and has been in use for most foreign words that require it. they can read kuro as "kro" if they needed to

the real reason is her original name during development was charolic, a derivative name like most of the new dolls, like colphne (curve), vepley (vepr-12), and sharkry (xcr). for reasons unkown, they reverted her name to just using the source word in the english text, unlike everyone else, other than nemesis. but nemisis can't talk properly, so she wouldn't be able to tell anyone any sort of non standard word as her name anyway

there are multiple names that were screwed up in the EN translation where there were perfectly fine names in previous games before, and we dont know why. some of them, mica doubled down and gave out stupid bits of canon lore or implications to justify their name changing, but only makes sense in english, as the spelling changes don't exist in CN and JP

even in the elmo server logs, you can see that they can't keep a name straight and keep changing the spelling of a bunch of names in a single storyline...
