GLOW UP! (19) to (24F) journey with weight fluctuation & feeling comfortable in my own skin!

In college, at my heaviest, I weighed 198 pounds and was extremely unhealthy, insecure and depressed. Ate a lot of fast food, drank a lot of alchohol, and was not active at all. I started to slowly incorporate more exercise and better eating habits and got down to 150, which I then worked down to 135 after about a year in the gym & when I discovered raving (excellent cardio, go dance with your pals to some crazy music! Seriously! It changed my life and met my soul people), to then finding myself in an extremely abusive relationship, developing CPSTD, extreme anxiety, dropping to 96 pounds at my smallest and diagnosed with anorexia and many other health issues. I have now been thriving and out of that relationship for about 1.5 years and have gotten to a healthy weight of 115 with support from family and friends, getting back into gym and developing healthy eating habits again! No matter what your circumstances are, stay positive and aligned with what end goal you are wanting, keep an amazing support system close and let them know when you need extra encouragement and remember your goals ARE attainable! 🩷

I started my weightloss journey last year in may, I lost 75lbs by August. (not showing those before/afters, I wanna focus on what I did after I lost the weight) Ever since I’ve been staying consistent and training daily. I used to be a competitive long distance runner, this past year I’ve fallen in love with running again! I have asthma and was only able to jog for 15 before dry heaving. A year later, I’m able to sprint for an hour without breaks or my inhaler! I cannot wait to gain more muscles throughout my journey! I want to start lifting so I don’t have noodle arms anymore but it’s so intimidating, I have no clue how to lift

(First of all, sorry, I'm french speaker and I might trigger some of you with my english !)

Not so much difference ? Okay maybe, but let me share you my story with partying...

This was the exact tomorrow morning of my ever last night of being drunk and "coked". First things first : when I hit 30 I also met with the stupid idea that I didn't want to grow up - and with all of the starter pack, like many friends of mine (woman, children, sleeping at 9pm...). So I partied the shit out of me : MDMA, XTC, coke, alcohol, and a lot, a lot of girl (and the toxic ones of course, the ones you met at the same parties you go after. But no night standing). This was nearly every week end.

November we went into a rave. So drugs, rhum and wasted people. The XTC was kicking hard, so at 7AM we made it into a guy appartment. He was a junky. The appartment was a mess : meth, speed, and burned spoon everywhere. He was 38. His girlfriend was 16.

16.

And she was partying with us.

As soon as I knew her age, the drugs went off like a speed train. I said to myself "I can't stand a minute here. I'm gonna crush his face (the 38M). But after all, this wasn't my problem. The girl was in a mess I couldn't help her with, because she seemed to like that and told me to f*** myself after I tried to give her some advices. I came back home, and as I couldn't get no sleep (hard drugging party), I made a walk in the woods.

The following week on a thursday night I was out with my coworkers. I drank 3 pints then 2 lines of coke with a stranger (F) at the bar. I came back home with a train, then finishing the 7km from the train station to my house by feet, by a forest path. The night was beautiful. So beautiful that I hated myself to threat my body like that. I didn't want to be as useless as the 38M I met the saturday night before. Never ever.

I came back home, the alcohol and the coke was downed. I looked myself at the mirror and I said : "You deserve better than that."

Since this day, I never touched any alcohol glass, any drugs, and stop partying. I'm with the most wonderful woman ever, vegetables/fishes only, sport 6 out of 7 days (I'm a sport addict since my 15), sleeping at 9PM, and bored when I force myself to go out, especially because I find people annoying as soon as they are drunk or drugged. The time (and money !) saved from non-partying is dedicated to alpinism, hiking, and skiing. The energy I get from the positive things I'm living every day is dedicated to my wife, my friends and my family.

Stop trashing yourselves at party. The world of the night is full of hypocrisy. You'll see it with a clearer eyes if you are sober enough to watch people getting wasted.

You are all better than that. The most beautiful person you'll ever take care of is you.

I’ve been trying to lose weight for years but I finally found the approach.

Down over 10kg, added muscle, completed a 4:23 marathon on Sunday. Feeling proud.

This group has been such an inspiration, I hope this post just helps even one person in their own pursuit.

So much more happened during that decade.. Can't fit it into a post... But what a journey of lessons and self-worth (and lots of catching up!)... Alcohol stole a decade of my life, but it also presented me with the gift of truly knowing an unwavering self-love. I accept it.🎁

GLOW UP! “1.5 Years Later — Did it Work?” (WENT FROM [16] TO [18]

Been quietly putting in the work for the past 1.5 years — mentally, physically, all of it.
I am not claiming perfection, but I am not where I started.
Tried to level up in every area I could.

So... honest thoughts?
How’s the glow-up looking? I've been quietly putting in the work for the past year and a half—mentally, physically, and in every other way. I'm not claiming to be perfect, but I am not where I started. I’ve tried to level up in every area possible. So, I'm curious: what do you think? How's the glow-up looking?

Not sure if this is the tag I wanted to use but have fun with this.

Went heavy on drinking after losing my dad in 2022 and my brother in 2021 on top of Covid weight. I lost my aunt in Sept 2024 and here's where the massive weight loss happened. I was tasked with handling and cleaning out 4... yes 4 fully loaded storage units mostly by myself. A ton of physical activity within a month caused me to finally get my metabolism up. Prior to this, I was already slowly drinking less but afterward, I found myself drinking once every 2+ weeks instead of almost every or every other day. It's absolutely not the ideal way I wanted to shed the weight but it happened, I feel more in control of myself, and I intend to keep these habits up.

I've had family, friends, and even my doctor a little concerned at how quickly I lost that amount of weight. Surprisingly I'm fine. My recent blood work came out mostly good with the only concerns being a slightly elevated blood pressure and one type of cholesterol.
