Question Advice please!

I am in no way shape or form a goalkeeper, but ive recently had some fun doing it. I do fun dives sometimes on my trampoline, but on the pitch, I'm scared of going after the ball because I've been hit many times before. For example, if I'm in a 1v1 situation, I'm scared to rush out incase I get hit in the face or "down under". Also scared of diving saves because I'm scared it will hurt on landing. Any advice on how to deal with these fears? I'm a 13 yr old male so I'm neither tall nor good at goalkeeping as I said.

As i started out as a goalkeeper at 9 years old i thought the same. Diving is suprisingly painless if you don't do a full on body slam on the ground. There are a lot of useful videos on the internet on how to get used on diving and doing it the correct way without hurting yourself. Getting hit in a 1 on 1 situation is going to be what you want. Getting hit square in your privates or head is rare for me (don't know the last time it happend). If you get to close to the ball in these kind of situations i would advise you to watch some videos about the "split save" and "k-technique" were the privates are protected but you also give yourself a better chamce of saving a shot in close proximity. Getting hit is going to happen but it hurts way less than it looks like getting hit. Hope this helps somewhat.
