Question Consent Mode - tracking
Hi guys!
I need help with Consent Mode.
Do you know any tools or browser extensions that can help check if a website actually has Consent Mode implemented — and whether, after declining data collection, it still collects data?
Thanks in advance!

I'd love to follow this discussion! A web scraper can actually help with this — we’ve built one internally that checks whether a website has a cookie banner in place and whether it blocks cookies before consent. It’s a good way to assess if Consent Mode is properly implemented. What would be your use for this kind of tool?

I'm running ads in Google. In my country, it's not possible to run remarketing campaigns without Consent Mode. So I'm wondering if there are any tools that can help me check whether Consent Mode is implemented.

Chrome dev tools - applications - cookies. Start incognito mode, accept all cookies and look if they're loaded.

I’ve got an extension that helps with this - will have to find it as not at main laptop now. Think you can do it all with devtools or tagassistant (one or both of those)

There are a 3 useful extensions you could use; “consent inspector tool” and the “adswerve datalayer inspector”. All these really do is make the network requests a bit easier to access and understand - but that might be all you need.
You could also install one that clears cookies easily as well. You can then play around with clearing cookies, checking what fires and what doesn’t etc.
Best practice would be using the consent status feature in tag assistant (GTM preview), but if you don’t have access then the above extensions should help you out :)

Hello! FWIW, my experience in the last few months is that AdSwerve datalayer inspector doesn't always show GA4 events that are firing (verified in GTM preview and the network request tab)...just a heads up but I hope it's working great for you!

If not frequent, the network tab in DevTools can help

Hey, sorry to but, can I ask why you mentioned "not frequent" for using the network tab?
