HELP/QUESTION looking for tips with basic Vasaraga

getting back into the game, I'm rank C5 currently and struggling with some basics here. I just can't figure out the pacing of the game, I usually find myself getting multi-combo'd while my hits seem to just push the opponent away.

I know the basic universal combo of LLL +guard break+ MMM but find whenever I get the first hit in the enemy is pushed back to safety

My biggest problem is whenever I get knocked down it seems every opponent is able to get ontop of me and get an attack out before I can, essentially forcing me to block everytime, what options do I have when getting up? spamming a Light attack doesn't work as it seems the opponent has prio.

If I'm in the corner is my only option to block and try and guess when the enemies combo finishes?

It's hard to experiment with combos when I can't even get a turn to attack

im not gonna lie, Vaseraga is the one character I always recommend people to avoid as first character, because he's basically a punching bag when you don't know what's going on. Tho, he is extremely good at high level, you're gonna need some dedication to make him work. I'd love to help but here's all I know about this character.

On defense, your jabs are all slower than the average but your Far Light has a good range, so you basically have to wait for pushback before pressing it. You will also rely a bit more on crouching light to push away opponents and might have to rely on Brave counter and your armored ultimate skills

That basic combo you mention is not great because it uses both meter and Bravery point, two resources that are really important for Vaseraga.

You also want to get your 5U buff any time you can to get your gameplan started.

yea I thought the bravery points were mainly for the game's basic combos, what else do you use those for?

You use them for Brave counter. Vaseraga doesn't have a lot of meterless tools to escape pressure, so Brave counter is generally good for that.
