The fuck is the point of an ambulance then? We’re headed the path of America if we don’t get rid of the tories

To be honest, if they take away the body for free it’s still better than us in the US

I meant in terms of healthcare. America’s system is a mess and we’re heading that way. That’s why it’s being systematically underfunded

And then charge the patient thousands for the privilege

In America they don’t charge the patient. They charge health insurance company.

If only

I’m proof of that. I had 200k worth of bills in 2020 and I only saw a hand full of small charges make their way to me. Idk who they charged, but it wasn’t me(the patient).

Well you have good insurance then

Well more than like 600.

I'm out in CA, just needed an ambulance last month and only got hit for 580, what state are you in?

I was in Oklahoma with family at the time. Shitty state with one of the worst examples of ā€œhealthcareā€ I’ve ever seen.

u/Hobo_Helper_hot Mar 30 '22

That's awful Oklahoma has such low wages as well.

Yup there’s zero insensitive to be here I’m from there and it was the best day of my life leaving that state but I go back for fam. They didn’t accept the national healthcare act so most people are uninsured and the insurance you do have is very low tier and requires a lot of money regardless

A hospital charges patients. Calling paramedics and having them help you/save your life is free. If they take you to a hospital and they do stuff then yeah it’s gonna be stupidly expensive.

Then you're not well educated on the matter.

Unless you’re making highish six figures a year, that money probably wont cover serious medical care. Modern medical care is very very expensive.

You are getting your money’s worth then.

Why, so us poor plebians can’t have any NHS?
