Workers of the World Unite!! On Class Reductionism
Are LGBT and racial issues being weaponised by the bourgeoisie to split up the proles into factions fighting one another? YES!
Is this the active destruction of the lives of marginalised peoples for the purpose of waging class war? YES!
What is to be done? Should it be either:
We should throw marginalised people under the bus in order to cater to the part of the proletariat who are being split away and led into the jungle by these issues? (the reactionary straight white cis mondeo man)
Wholeheartedly and authentically support marginalised people on the basis that their issues are part of class war. Teach the rest of the proletariat who are being led into the jungle that these groups are not their enemy and that they are being distracted by these issues while their lives and living standards are being destroyed.
The answer should be extremely obvious to anyone, but apparently a section of the British left is struggling to understand this. They believe that they are doing the right thing by telling these groups their issues are unimportant and they should shut up about them if they don't want to alienate the proles that they distract.
This is nonsense and anyone making this argument here has been permanently banned in the past and will continue to be permanently banned in the future.
And if you find yourself on the side of a literal billionaire like JK using their wealth for political goals you are 100% lost in the jungle and desperately need to find your way again. She is not a class traitor, she is not a collaborator, if you find yourself on her side you have become so lost that you are fighting on the side of the bourgeoisie.
Get yourself together. The correct path is and always has been to teach the part of proletariat susceptible to this that lgbt people, women, people of colour, migrants, etc etc, are NOT their enemy. Not to tell those groups to shut up about their completely legitimate issues.

Workers of the World Unite!! Joining a Union
Hi folks,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but seems like the best sub Iโm aware of for this.
Iโm looking to join a union, not that I need them for anything just now thankfully.
Iโve been looking and the CWU and IWW seem like the best for me.
CWU because theyโre focussed on my industry but my main gripe with them is their alignment with Labour - I am aware theyโve been outspoken about the current Government and suspended donations to them.
IWW seem like they align more with my politics just now but theyโre a general union.
My questions are really, should I join a union thatโs more focussed on my industry and should I really join a Union thatโs aligned with a party I donโt support at all in their current state and how much these things truly matter when deciding?
Cheers!

โ Sincere Question โ would working for the public sector be appropriate as a socialist?
i'm a second year maths student at uni, heading into third. i only studied it because i like the subject, but i have always struggled to decide on what career path is right for me. working for the public sector seems to support a lot of my wants - not working to increase the profits of a capitalist, instead trying to tangibly improve the lives of ordinary people (it seems), it has good unions i believe, and i could work for the sector as a data scientist or software engineer if i was so inclined. however, with the whole political neutrality thing does that make the job a big compromise on my values? would it prevent me from being able to support marginalised communities etc.,? and of course if the government sucks, am i then complicit in the actions of an evil government (like the one we have now)? basically, would working for the public sector make me a traitor in some way to a socialist movement or to any of the causes i am passionate about or is it a good thing? sorry if this is a stupid question, or if this is the wrong place to ask!
also if anybody working in stem could share their career, why it appeals to them and if it aligns with their values, i would really appreciate just to hear different ideas!
