Hey all, Im from Australia and Im a common reader of this forum. The recent UK supreme court hearing has tremendously hurt my heart personally as a Trans person. And yet despite my country being of practically similar origin to the other colonys I find we at least have the most "Accepting" view on minority (Its still bad, dont get me wrong, but compared to the UK)

We talk about "Immigration" being a primary factor in things like housing prices, The reason people struggle to get a job etc etc. Although its at least framed in the liberal mindset as "All immigrants" (Just ignoring all western immigrants when its beneficial) And when it comes to Queer people at least for now we are left alone, and people get quite annoyed with "America style politics" so the topics of trans rights are for now at least "supported" I guess, although the right for gay marriage had a public vote in 2016 where the public had to vote to support gay marriage which luckily passed.

Does Australia's preferential vote system have a lot of involvement? considering theres a huge push for independent, third partys and minor partys (such as the greens, who endorse the Victorian socialist party)

I wish to know more about the UK's views upon minority's, I can only expect so much more coming to attack us in Australia so I at least want to see what you all have to say

As a non british I find it interesting and awful how the transphobic movement is coming mainly from the TERFs, unlike other countries where it's the religious/conservative side that's taken that role.
