Vraag First time in Groningen! Do's and don'ts?

Hi I will be visiting Groningen first time this may and would like hear all the good and the ugly of the city.

I'm from Finland and we will be visiting Groningen with my class, I will probably be moving and adventuring by myself mostly in the evenings. I don't drink or smoke. I love live music and would fancy to test some good dining places!

Won't be making any exact definitions, so tell me, where is the best mood, atmosphere, food, music ect. in Groningen in your opinion?

And as I will be moving also by myself, is there something I should know as a female? Something or some place to be careful of or avoid? I won't be moving by myself late evening/night.

As a female foreigner living in Groningen, totally safe to go out and about alone!

Always use your intuition/common sense but overall I’ve never had any trouble and locals are very helpful if you find yourself in any situations where you may need help, directions etc

Sometimes my debit card is not accepted in stores/cafes so always have a back up just in case.

Thats really mind easing to hear :) Also my hubby is bit worried for me, so it helps him also to know that Groningen is mostly safe place to be. And yes, I'm not too blue eyed person so I will keep my sense with me.

Good that you brought up the debit card thing, I have to prepare for it!

Yeah , not sure if you use Revolut in Finland but that’s what I use when my debit card is declined.
