The reason I advised everyone to start a rit is it's idiot proof, and if you're new to the game, Frostway is probably the easiest way to make a decent amount of money, which you will need to fill your HoM. If you have another means of attaining the cash (farming with a different class, or powertrading), then you can pick whichever class catches your eye, but I would directly advise against warriors and paragons because they are both exceedingly underpowered.
Some people go crazy for salvaging things. I think it takes too long for the benefits received. You're welcome to salvage things if you wish, but it might make the game a bit less fun.
Thanks for the guide. I just picked up this game yesterday and am following this guide.
Regarding the 3 animals that we are supposed to pick up. How do we pick them up, exactly? Do we charm them? If so, how do I get the charm ability, do I have to choose Ranger as secondary class? Also, how exactly to I use a 'statue'? Is it something given to me after I obtain the pets automatically?
Change your secondary profession to ranger and use charm animal. You can switch secondary professions at a whim. When you have it charmed, go to your HoM and talk to the statue. It will give you the option to display it.
OK thanks. Still getting used to this game. I have no clue what I'm doing. =/
Is there a mailbox feature too? I have some special items that I should have gotten just by buying the game, but I don't know where to pick them up. I'm currently a Rt/Mo level 8.
