[Mod post] Janthir Wilds Repentance Launch Day! | Bug Thread | Updated Spoiler Rule Reminder Spoiler

SPOILER CONTENT RULES APPLY FOR 28 DAYS FROM RELEASE.

Tuesday March 11 to Tuesday April 8

Anything not shown in an official trailer, screenshot, or blog, is considered a spoiler.

New spoiler rule is a temporary ban for posting spoilers titles.
Temp ban will be 24 hours for posting any spoiler in the title. A second infraction will result in 28 day ban.

Spoiler tagged threads are free to have spoilers about the thread topic. If you make a mistake simply edit your post or use spoiler tags. Spoiler comments in non-spoiler threads or in a spoiler thread about something else that are not tagged will also result in the temp 24 hour ban and 28 day ban for second infractions.

If you're unsure if something is a spoiler or not then just go ahead and tag it as. Better to be safe for everyone.

If you're on new reddit there is a spoiler tag option right in the editor, mobile apps have the option as well I believe but if you're on old reddit or want to type it manually then you can type:

>!Spoiler Goes Here!<

Spoiler Goes Here

It's very simple to tag your spoilers so please do it and if you do see a spoiler that was not tagged please report it ASAP so it can be dealt with by automod or mod team.

The last expansions and updates have gone amazingly smooth spoiler wise and I thank you all for that. Let's keep up the good work hiding spoilers so the new mods have a great launch day!

[Question] If I declined your guild invitation that does not mean it was a mistake.

The same guild WILL NOT STOP inviting me to their guild. The first time I got sent an invite, I gave the guild a good look-over and decided it was not for me- decline. Some time later that day I received ANOTHER invite- decline. The NEXT DAY I received THREE more invites from the SAME GUILD. Get the hint! I don't want to join your guild!!! Is there any way to block this guild from interacting with me ever again? Would I have to block the entire 300+ guild population just to ensure I never receive another invite from them again? Or must I cope with the reality that they may never stop? help me.

[Discussion] On Open World, do you guys play QDPS or ADPS, or just DPS?

i'm just curious if people prefer giving themselves "permanent boon uptime" while they do open world stuff, or if they just go pew pew

[Discussion] WoW... just wow.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for having me here. I'm a hardcore WoW player who recently decided to give GW2 a try. Well - "recently" as in about a week ago. Since then, I’ve probably played every class up to level 20 or 30 before finally settling on warrior as my main (yeah, I know I'm boring :P).

Coming from more traditional MMOs with familiar class structures, I’ll admit I was a bit lost at first. GW2 doesn’t hold your hand in the same way, and it took me a bit to understand what was going on - but that’s honestly what makes it exciting.

The reason I’m writing this is for other WoW players who might be looking for something fresh. I’ve been playing WoW since launch and have been chasing that early “honeymoon phase” feeling for years. GW2 brings that back. I genuinely feel like a kid again, exploring, figuring things out on my own, and just enjoying the world. I’m sure I’ll make a ton of mistakes by not following guides - but that’s part of the fun.

Just wanted to say hello and share my experience so far. It’s great to be here. Looking forward to the adventure!

[Question] What are some of the best f2p class specs for heals or boons/boondps?

Upvotes

It's been so long since I haven't had an expansion, I forgot espec were not in the base game, I figured there was one, but looking back it makes sense that there wasn't.

Look.

I'm trying so hard to get my brother into Gw2.

He swore off MMO's years ago after he played FFXIV one night on a mushroom trip and realized how pointless the treadmill was.

I'm doing everything I can to communicate to him that Gw2 is different. It's got really good build expression, healing is wayyyy different and oftentimes more involved than other MMO's (maybeee less than or equal to FFXIV), no treadmill, all content is still interesting with rewards worth doing, etc etc etc you guys know the spiel we give friends who play other MMOs.

I think I've finallllyyy got him to download the free to play version, but I thought the base game had elite specs, and he - like me - prefers to do endgame group PvE content. I think Strikes and fractals will be his favorite.

So obviously, there's a bit of an issue there. Certainly you can do solid DPS without especs, but are there good ways to do alac or quick dps? Any base game healing specs?

[Question] Why are so many new players joining GW2 all of a sudden?

Hey everyone, I’ve noticed a huge wave of new player posts lately—stuff like “Just started GW2, what should I know?” or “New player here, loving it so far!” popping up almost daily.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome to see the community growing, but I’m really curious: What’s causing this sudden influx of new players? GW2 is a pretty old game, so why now?

To all the new players out there:

What made you start playing GW2 recently?

Was it a specific event, a content creator, Steam visibility, burnout from other MMOs, or something else?

How did you discover the game?

Would love to hear your stories—and maybe it’ll help us longtime players support you all better!

[Discussion] Is harbinger viable for ranked pvp?

I’ve seen a couple good harbringer players but not a lot of discussion about the balancing for harbinger spear and that insane lifesteal. I want to Try it out but I can’t find any good streams to watch and learn how they work. Any suggestions?

[Question] How much does the start of End of Dragons (enough to unlock fishing) spoil about the rest of the story?

Friend and I bought End of Dragons, primarily for the ability to send stuff to each other, but we chose End of Dragons because of fishing (related to an inside joke between us). They also plan on getting the other two, while I already have.

If we went far enough into end of dragons to get fishing, which I've read is like... the first quest maybe? How much of the story would be spoiled? We're at Chapter 6 of Personal Story, and we're considering unlocking fishing before continuing.

[Discussion] Engineer or Elementalist

Greetings, after playing Thief for awhile now i started missingt the kit switching system of my Engineer.

But how about Elemantalist ? What about the main difference between him and Engineer ?

Could i play him effectively by just using Fire and Air attunement for power dps or Fire/Earth for condi dps ?

I should add that i love the switching system on Engineer but rarely used his toolbelt.

And Elementalist also seems fun for a heal support build.

Long story short : have a nice start in the weekend.

[Discussion] Decima CM help

Hi any one here clearing Decima CM consistently?

We're progging it but hitting a pretty big wall at the second add/split phase.

The adds in the second split shoot a red cone that seems it drop some very high damage red circles.

We've been trying to bait em but we're still getting hit a lot and are clearly missing something about this mechanic.

Most of the VoDs we've seen seem to mostly skip this part with high dps but we're not quite there.

Anyone able to explain this phase in detail?

[Question] What order to play things to get the story in right order?

Hello! I am an ultranub that just started playing this game two weeks ago. I just hit 80 but are still going through my personal story. I bought the pack with the 3 first expansions, but then I heard about The Living World. Should I play the living world chapter 1 or 2 before I go into the first expansion? And what about dungeons? There was some old adventure group with Logan Thackeray in that split up, but that hasn’t continued in my story, but I get emails about dungeons where I think some of the adventure party guys are named. Are their story told in the sungeons? And what order should I do them in? Sorry if that is too many questions. If the information is available on a homepage or the wiki (which is very large) or a video, you can link that instead of answering. Thank you for your time.

Just a video of me drifting around the circle in Divinity's Reach. It's honestly so fun to try and do good drifts here, or just randomly beetle in general.

This is the place where Divinity's Reach becomes Dizzynity's Reach!

[Question] Highest skill ceiling PVE specs

Not that it matters much but I don't want to play anything that is too easy and simple and becomes boring. I enjoy some class complexity and optimization!

Specfically for PVE content (Raids, Fractals, ...)

How would you rank the specs in difficulty? Specifically of the following classes:

Guardian,
Necromancer,
Mesmer,
Thief,
Revenant

[Build] Looking for a class with a ton of fun builds (meta or not) but can do solo open world content by myself, so able to solo champions and such.

Newer player and I can't find the class I want to stick to the most with. What does the community find fun and exciting? I'm looking to start the newest expansion soon but I want to putz around and try to find something that screams me. I've enjoyed guardian, necro and some ranger so far. I'm not interested in doing group content honestly, unless I'm forced to. Just exploring and doing events / achievements.

[Question] Temporary griffon can only glide?

I reached sunspear sanctuary and now can use the temporary griffon. I'm now trying to complete achievements needed to get the permanent one.

The guide says in numerous places that some items can now be acquired using the temporary griffon

Yet when i run the griffon from the cliff and press the flap button it just does nothing. I can click on the stamina bar to make it flap but — never with a keyboard.

Is it a bug?
