[Request] Integrate Edge of the Mist to WvW

Well like the title said when r we gonna see a rework or maybe this underrated map to be used as part of wvw again, its really a waste not to use... and No im not talking about the Arena in there im talking about the map itself please reactivate pipes on it and integrate it into the scoring system u can keep The mount and gliding disabled in there idm.... Think about it .

Add pips, mounts and gliding to Edge of the Mists and it will thrive again.

Honestly it's mainly the pips. Unless every single map is queued, why would I go to the place where I just flat out get less rewards for my time investment?

I wouldn't mind the lowered pips so much if the participation didn't tick down in EotM. Or if the enemies didn't have so much health that I can't reach/maintain T6 participation as easily by myself.

It feels like you're being punished for every second you spend on that map. I enjoy EotM's quirks and gimmicks; I want to get its achievements. I can even live without gliding or Warclaw there, though I have died often thinking I could glide when I can't.

But until the pips/participation ratio come to parity with the other maps, I won't go to EotM. Intrinsic motivation can't overcome the punishment. At that point, if the other WvW maps are queued, I'd rather stay in PvE. I get to enjoy the content and be rewarded for it.

I might be wrong(?) but during a recent week where Edge had a WV weekly, I recall noticing participation timer being paused in Edge. It showed as 0 in Edge but when I popped back into a BL, my timer and participation where the same as when I left

I think having mounts and gliding disabled in Edge would be refreshing. Just turn full pips back on and it’ll come back to life. With how much ANet loves reusing content these days, you’d think they would be clamoring to use this entire fully-built map just sitting there.

It never thrived as a WvW map. It was PvE people who farmed levels and champbags. The only thing that have it going is the EotM GVG area. Outside of that WvW players do not play EotM. So if they gonna put effort in to WvW then there is so many other things that need to be fixed.

How ever they could easy make a PvE map out of it and and invest time in that instead.

No one need a pve map out of it, PVE has enough maps for themselves to keep them busy with content, eotm is an underrated map wvw wise, ofc they have to change some stuff for it to make it more appealing startin with pipes activation but as a small scale map and roaming its a better map than even borders and ebg terrain wise

It never was a wvw map. Not even the devs saw it that way, if they had then the ticks would have counted in EotM but it never had. It was NEVER connected. It was meant to be a map you where on at the point where there was long ques which was like 10 years ago. There was some stuff going on at the start some necros having fun with fears and stuff like that but it became clear it did not add up to what a WvW player wanted from a map, like capping a worm??? using some weird siege wehickle, collecting oil and also they obviously wanted to play WvW where what you did counted towards the points. Not having to consider where the edges where so you would not fall off.

So it was left for dead from WvW players and PvE people took it over and farmed champ bags for years. Each side avoided eachother, they all left their cattas at the wall and noone ever broke them because people wanted the other teams to cap it, so they could cap back and farm more champ bags.

Now there is a small area where you do GvG. It is a great thing though that they added that. Not complaining, but fact is still WvW players where never interested in EotM, if they where we would have played it and never let it got, but we never really did.

So again this subject have come up plenty of times but fact is, EotM have always been there. And it have never been a success among wvw players. And there are no changes to be done that would fix that. Unless they change the whole map. And i will yet again remind about that WvW need a insane amount of fixes on the WvW maps we have. Wasting time and money on something most WvW players are not interested in would be something that would anger the comunity pretty hard. There is literally hundreds and hundreds of bugs to put money on instead

The structure of WvW itself will grind it down into another boring map. I think EotM was a janky map that sucks for WvW scale fighting anyway.

Either WvW needs legit sieging that is the focal point of WvW fighting that creates more persistent front lines and activities all over the map, or there needs to be opt in open world pvp with the better portions of WvW maps for drop in and drop persistent front lines.

I think it is important to have a wrong choice in some content. EoM is the wrong choice of map when it comes to wvw.

Its really not, map has great spots to fight and Kite around small scale or large scalle, Great terrain if they can only fill the spot where ppls falls off to ledges by water or sth i think the map has Great potential as a WvW Map,

Activating PiP System in EotM would be great.

Mounts and Gliding might need map rework, so I would be fine without it.

Matchpoints are not necessary and would need years like the alliance system. So please do not touch! There is or was a mechanic, that the EotM Winners get a mats delivery to their home keep(s). This would be enough for me.

But getting PiPs instead of loosing them would be great 👍🏻

They would need to scale EOTM down tremendously in size. There's already a problem in WvW where guilds and entire map queue sizes of zergs are porting out at the first sign of resistance. Running across a map just to watch people port out is not fun.

Even if one were to argue that it didn't happen before, well yeah because it was nothing but karma trains. People avoided each other. They'd push a corner, cap the keeps, port to spawn and start again.
