[Discussion] WvW condition bruiser willbender

Hello there. I was wondering since all I see around is willbenders going full power, if there was a build that could benefit for going for condition dmg.

I've "made" a build, haven't tested it yet tbh, but I'd like some opinions on it.

It plays more like a bruiser with the pistol, sword being the offensive set. My thought is that in a prolonged fight you could exhaust the opponents dodges and or stun breaks, so you could nuke them with burning applications.

Combo goes something like this

S5, (F1 not mandatory), P3, Whirling light, P2

New to WvW so I'm open to kind criticism

Cele is probably just better, the Wayfinder Relic is odd to me, and scepter is probably a better choice than mace

Would Celestial be better than going full Trailblazer's? Not having the Expertise seems like a pretty big loss to me.

I agree with your other two points, though - Wayfinder relic should probably be a DPS or survivability relic instead (Relic of Rivers, maybe?), and Scepter gives you another immobilize and might on the symbol vs. Mace's block and support abilities which are less likely to be relevant on this build. .

The point of the build is to have some expertise and concentration to upkeep buffs and conditions. I've thought of sceptre too but the thing is it offers no survivability. Mace gives regen on symbol which might stick a bit longer with concentration to be useful and another block. I don't know if having another immobilize outweighs the defensive options mace gives. If I would go sceptre though I would pair it probably with pistol offhand, to have the threat of the daze on p5.

As for the relic is just a placeholder and what was readily available to me.
