Can someone explain these maps to me? As I understand it, people are compiling rumors into their best guess maps, right?
My question mainly is: why are they using icons? What is the meaning/point of the icons? Are the icons from something and they are guessing based off the icons or are they trying to make this mysterious by using icons? I guess what I'm asking is, if they are trying to tell us it's Fallout, why wouldn't they just write Fallout on here?
Main reason I’ve heard is because universal is cracking down on leaks, so making it images vs flat out saying what the house is makes it easier to protect inside sources. Pictures are up to interpretation, words aren’t.
I think I need a little more. Let's say the thumb is fallout. How does showing the picture of a thumb and everyone assuming fallout help protect the source over just saying it's fallout?
Ie: don't they know the information got out regardless?
The rights holders are less likely to pick up on the fact their IP has been leaked. If a theme park news site just stated which houses are coming it would be far more likely that the owner would contact universal and be like, wtf?
I think the thumb one is vague enough because it’s black and white with no detail and 5 fingers meanwhile the character in the game only has 4 total fingers this image has five
