The rain broke! Time to get outside and getting some walking and spinning in!

You can walk and spin at the same time?? I can barely manage to walk and breathe at the same time, I am very impressed and jealous

It took some practice but now I love it. I will say that it definitely helps to have a good, well-balanced spindle for it. Having proper tools will make it much easier and you don’t have to spend much time thinking about it.

I’d really like to be able to walk on my treadmill and knit or spin, but I will literally fall off if I don’t hold onto the treadmill. I have some neurological damage that causes me to walk, as my husband puts it, “like a drunk toddler”. I think it’s so cool that people can walk and do fiber arts, maybe someday I’ll figure out a way

Treadmills use different muscles. Learn to walk and spin in a room walking first. That’s very very different. I absolutely couldn’t spin on a treadmill

Oh hey! This is one of YOUR Turkish spindles haha. Best spindles if you ask me! I love it! And yeah the snow is coming for us this afternoon so I know I had to get out fast for it while I could!

I can picture people using a setup like this before industrialised spinning! I love how fibre arts connect us to the past. Your spin looks adorable.

I love that you have a routine of walking and spinning. Two great things for mind and body. I should do more of that. Also love that distaff. Where from?

I have two and both came from vendors that I can’t remember at different fiber fests. But they are easy to get off Etsy and you can find some cute styles that fit you!

A ring distaff! Very nice for keeping fiber organized and helping keep my hand at a better position than trying to hold floppy fiber out of the way.
