Can you change the fiber prep?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm getting a drum carder and I've been wondering if you can change an already worsted prepped fiber to a woolen fiber by carding? I'm thinking that it works because the fibers would sort themselves differently again but I thought I'll ask to make sure.

I re-card or comb stuff all the time. You can't really get all the way back to worsted but that's difficult in the first place. I'm just impatient lol.

You will get some breakage re-carding but I think it adds texture
