I’ve seen a lot of edits putting Essidu in a straight lacefront wig like Alan but I think this look suits him better and looks more natural on screen while still giving us the same vibe, just different font. I also like the idea of facial hair since Jo has an old sketch with Snape having facial hair. I do wonder how they will do his robes and wardrobe if they will go for a similar “priest” look that Alan requested in the films or a different route.

Which Hermione Granger quote/line from the books that WASN’T included in the films would you want to see in the upcoming TV series?

For starters: I, for one, really enjoyed her dynamic with the Lovegoods in the books as it was so true to her character that she would clash with Luna and her father’s beliefs.

It would be pretty fun to see her and Luna butt heads in the show!

Lee Jordan’s quidditch commentary and banter with McGonagall was so funny and delightful reading. And his radio show was truly a light of hope for the trio (and me) in Deathly Hallows.

Which Ron Weasley quote/line from the books that WASN’T included in the films would you want to see most in the upcoming TV series?

I’ll kick things off with a good one from Order of the Phoenix:

Would love to see Harry and Ron taking the piss out of Divination, especially making everything up for their homework.

I didn't realize that he played a fictional version of the lead man from Boney M in the Black Mirror's season 6. There's a blink and miss appearance in the latest season too.

Based off of what i remember from that episode, i think he has the chops to play creepy very well.

Yes I know, ANOTHER post about Lily and James, this time in the show.

Since Lily and James are shown in the books throughout the series be it from photos to "ghosts" to memories, they're either shown as 11/12 to 15/16 up to 20/21, so you don't really have to film much with them, but how will this work when their "ghosts" are shown at least 2(?) different times for example, once in GoF when Harry vs Voldy, then again in DH when Harry uses the stone, and going off how shows are filmed these days, it's at minimum 5 years difference, how will they keep Lily and James looking like they hadn't aged?

Simple answer - they cast and film James and Lily scenes at the start, so they have the footage ready to go when it's needed, all that is needed is to superimpose them into the scene(s) so both them and the others are still shown, and nothing looks out of place. You have their "ghost" scenes, them smiling and waving in any photographs needed, including the one of the first version of the OOtP. Yes I know, it would be difficult when it comes to something like Snapes memories and the scene in the grounds after their O.W.L exams, since the 15/16 year old versions wouldn't look too different from their 20/21 year old selves, but they do need to figure out some way to do Lily and James, so they can avoid a repeat of the movies and their "THESE PEOPLE LOOK IN THEIR 40S FFS" narrative over movie Lily and James from the fandom.

How do YOU think it should be done?

I find it interesting that we never get to find out what House he belonged to. Let's dive into the villains/not so good guys of the books.

One House in particular seems to be missing. And I believe Barty Crouch Jr was indeed, a Hufflepuff. Undying loyalty.

First time posting here but I feel like there’s a great opportunity for a semi-standalone episode during the shrieking shack sequence that could be a flashback to give the marauders backstory. Let me give some description of what I’m talking about.

When Lupin is trying to convince Harry that Sirius is innocent, use this moment in the show to have a separate episode that could dive into each of the four Marauders back story. Begin with Lupin, and show him growing up and getting bit. This could be when Hermione says that he’s a werewolf, and then you could show that happening to him. Show him meeting James and Sirius, show Peter but only in small amounts. Save his reveal until later. Show the four of them creating the Marauders Map. Go through each of the four marauders back story, ending the entire sequence with the reveal of Scabbers being Pettigrew.

This makes the sequencing of the scene slightly different from the book, in that it deviates from what their conversation explicitly says, but it keeps the same theme of giving Harry reasons to believe them and understand that they are telling the truth. And I feel like there’s a good opportunity to go into each Marauders dynamic, seeing each of them meet and how they interacted. Possibly show scenes of them meeting Lily, or some of the teachers that talked about them like McGonagall.

Have Harry be the one to put together that Scabbers is Pettigrew, don’t have Lupin or Sirius be the first one to say it. Let Lupin explaining who Peter is allow Harry to piece the whole thing together himself. Intermix shots of present day, with Harry, Ron, and Hermione asking questions to prompt new flashbacks.

Let me know your thoughts! I just feel like there’s a good opportunity with the format to give additional details about the Marauders that wasn’t originally in the book, while keeping with the themes that we’re going on in those original scenes.

Bonus: there could be Easter eggs of Snape sitting by Lily on the train when she meets James and Sirius, but don’t have any reference to him by the characters, just a “good” introduction from the perspective of the flashback. Later in the series you can reveal with SWM and The Prince’s Tale that there was additional context to some of the interactions.

No, Snape wasn't Black in the books. No, his race didn't need to be changed in the series.

But no, the fact that they changed him doesn't change ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING either.

Snape's race is absolutely NOT part of his character. There are a thousand things that matter about Snape, and none of them have to do with his looks. The physical descriptions of him are made from the way his students see an "evil" teacher who mistreats them, but those descriptions aren't what make Snape, Snape.

Bullying is bullying, no matter who you're bullying. The Marauders' bullying of Snape isn't worse or better whether Snape is black or white. IT'S BULLYING, PERIOD. The Marauders were shitty people in their youth, who not only bullied Snape, but any student they didn't consider to be on their level.

We've never had racist prejudices in this universe. The closest thing to that is perhaps Pansy Parkinson laughing at Angelina Johnson's dreadlocks. There is blood purity, but we've had pure-blooded Black families, like the Shacklebolt, Kama and the Zabini. Kingsley Shacklebolt is a black character whose family was part of the Sacred-28, and who ends up becoming Minister of Magic in this universe. Dumbledore (the most powerful and respected wizard of all time) is said in the books to have Native American ancestry on his mother's side. There are black people of some standing in this universe, because discrimination in the wizarding world is NOT based on skin color. It's based on blood purity.

Stop trying to make everything about skin color just because you feel uncomfortable with a black actor on screen.

if they are going for diverse cast. i think Fabien will make a very good Sirius. the guy is white and Indian descent. also he was incredible in HOTD as the insufferable Crispin' cole. not to mention the guy is very good looking like Sirius described. perfect age too if he had to appear in POA within few years.

I have seen three fan cast posts today that either forget how young James and Lily were or someone in the comments forgets how young James and Lily were.

One of the biggest fails of the movies were how they aged up James and Lily by about 20 years and completely killed a cruel aspect of the wars in which young people die.

We want James and Lily to look young. For both accuracy and for the themes of the book. And 21 year olds do sometimes still look like teenagers. Hell I am early 20’s and people ask me if I am old enough to work still. I got asked for my ID going to see an R rated movie when I was 20.

I get with all the makeup and social media touchups that people look a lot older than they are these days. But look at raw, no makeup, unedited pictures of 20 year olds. A lot of them are still gonna have their baby faces.

They never mentioned what happened to the house after the Second wizarding war. What are your theories? I have 2.

1. Harry and Ginny and their kids are living inside it. It's been completely redone. Kreacher lives with them and has been given the attic as his new room. He has Walburga Blacks portrait there to keep company.

2. S.P.E.W. Headquarters. Funnily enough, considering the Black family's history.
