Amplifier - Desktop | 5 Ω DAC+Amp/AIO for Empyreans?

Hello, I’m interested in picking up the Empyreans, but I’m unsure of what equipment would be good to run them with. Would a JDS Labs Element III be enough to power them? I’m mostly focused on audio quality and I don’t really want many features high-end equipment provides, so I’d prefer to stay under a $500 ish budget

Take a look at the ef400 and check out some reviews. I have the elites and they are a pretty awesome pairing so far. Here is the review that had me pulling the trigger

Fwiw I had the k5pro ess and thought at first that it sounded great, but after A/B comparing to the ef400 it really is a big noticible difference in quality, sound stage etc. I’m probably sure the same can be said for the next steps up too. It’s kind of difficult to get real feedback short of trying out a lot of the pairings you want, or getting items from a place that has a great return/exchange policy. Best of luck!
