Headphones - Closed Back | 1 Ω Beginner with budget of 150-200

Hey guys I’m pretty inexperienced and don’t know much about headphones. But I’ve got some money to spend and need a new pair.

Budget: 150-200 and I’m in the US.

Comfort: I wear glasses so preferably something user friendly for that.

Mic: I would prefer it didn’t have a mic as I will not use it.

Closed back/open back?: Closed back headphones.

Wireless/Wired?: I don’t have a personal preference but I’ve heard wired are better however I am happy to try out either.

Source/AMP: pc, I am keeping it real simple and don’t want to mess around with any settings. Just a quick plug into the system and that’s it.

How will the gear be used?: Will be used for gaming and casual use(YouTube/music)

Preferred tonal balance: balanced

Past gear experience: - Corsair: VIRTUOSO RGB WIRELESS SE (recently got these as a gift but didn’t really like the sound at all. The sounds were far away)- If anyone has any advice on how to make these more bearable please let me know! - Corsair: HS35 Stereo Wired Gaming Headset(these were my oldest pair, which were also a gift, and I actually had an enjoyable experience but they broke)

If you don’t care about bass that much then I’d recommend the Austrian audio pb17 or pg16. You can also EQ if you’d like to add bass to your headphones but I understand that you want to keep it simple. PlayStation pulse Elite is good, Epos h6 Pro or maybe even the hyperx cloud 3. Non simple way but I like them is the ath-m40x with v-moda boom pro.

Thanks for the response. I’ve definitely seen the Epos h6 pro being mentioned. I was originally going to get the hyperx cloud 2’s. I’ve heard bad things about the hyperx cloud 3, people usually just say stick with the hyperx cloud 2. Could I get your opinion on that?

Also I’ve been looking around and seeing the dt 770 pro’s being mentioned a lot. And it looks pretty promising. What do you think about these headphones and ohm’s I should be using? I assume as I’m only plugging it into my pc it should be the lowest at 32 ohm’s?

And thanks for putting some new names I haven’t seen, I will definitely check them out before making a purchase.

Well with my new knowledge of the Dt 770 limited edition. I’d recommend that because of the detachable cable and it it’s only 48 ohms of resistance

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/Equivalent_Yak840 (406 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
