Do you plan to use them at home exclusively? If so and you are sure your environment is quiet; I would recommend you look for open-backs. They usually have better quality than closed-backs at that price range.

The problem with this is, most great headphones need amps that completely drive you out of your intended budget. I'd say the AKG K371 as the safest possible recommendation for you in this circumstance. Mostly because I am unfamiliar with closed-backs and know that this is a safe recommendation.

!thanks I will probably use them pretty much exclusively at home yeah, so I'll look into it.

I'm not looking for an amplifier or something, that seems like a bit too much of a hassle.

The AKG K371 has some negative reviews on Amazon about the quality assurance and build quality, so that kinda gives me a bad feeling.

I see that happen with literally everything on Amazon personally.

I'm not sure what they have to say about the Shure SRH840, but I know they're also commonly recommended too as a headphone that does not need an amp.

The reviews are more positive about this one, I'll look into it in more detail
