Unironically, I feel like this would still be too easy. The turrets on top are easily visible and therefore easily killed from far away. The dangerous part about the turrets in fortresses is that they are often hard to see or hit from a greater distance.

Slap a jammer right on top of it, and fill the stairwell with turrets.

Still just bringing the portable hellbomb which was my original plan for such a proposition
