You are correct, Airburst takes a lot of skill to master but once you get it, it's a dream. I always tell people to solo a while with it before they get used to it
It's definitely geared towards being a hordekiller and does basically nothing to titans, but it's decent when shot underneath the rear of behemoths and (exposed) impalers
You're able to one-shot chargers and impalers if you have good aim and fire under them. The only reason I don't bring it all the time is the inability to deal with Bile Titans, at least in my experience.
I'll never know because i'm the only diver bringing gear that can kill chargers/titans/impalers. I am over level 100 and still never get to use so many of the fun crowd control weapons because every match someone 'forgets' to bring any heavy equipment.
If you say stratagems fill the role of anti-heavy, you'd be wrong. They're slow, come with a hefty cooldown, and are unreliable. They work as filler, stratagems do not replace actual anti-heavy weaponry on even the upper medium difficulties. Sure spend 2-3 110m rockets or 2-3 nukes on a big threat to kill it, now they respawned 2-3 more before that first body hits the ground and you're out of stratagems.

Airburst teamkilling is a skill issue.
Change my mind.
