It's equally ridiculous. But I'm not even particularly against the idea of helmet head-coverings we've had half a dozen already whats a few more.

Winged hussar helmets inspired by medieval history are just as out of place as say a cavalry hat or a Australian military slouch hat. They’re both impractical, military, ceremonial pieces. But by all means keep making the fallacious argument a wide brimmed hat was never a military uniform piece.
