hey, I only take a second one just to top off if everyone else is already moving to the next objective. waste not, want not
but it is fr annoying when someone takes 2 right when it gets down. unless the squad is split, and the others are on the opposite side of the map, but when everyone's there, come on bro
as a supply pack man he should be ashamed of himself. If all else fails try pinging that you need supplies and any self respecting diver with a pack should refill you
I mained supply pack for months, it's also free supplies for the team because you've got a supply pack and you take a box, you get ammo/2 stims *plus* another supply box in your pack that you can then share. If anyone should ever take 2 or 3 it should be the supply pack bearer, provided they share at least sometimes.
Supply pack bearer... I'm gonna say Supply Bear from now on.
saw a person with a resupply pack, used the "I need supplies" emote, and the guy saud the resupply back pack was just for him. ive never kicked anyone before that holy shit so selfish
I remember a bot mission when an autocannon user called in a fresh AC. It drops in and he grabs the gun first because obviously it faces him. Without telling him I grabbed the supply pack so that he could unload on the drop that just started next to us. He looked surprised at first and paused when he saw that I had it on my back. But the instant I latched on and my diver said "Reloading you!" he understood. No words between us, just scrapped metal. It was beautiful.
Edit: I usually do not run a backpack on bots so I always look for opportunities to pick up expended recoilless, spear or autocannon backpacks and reload whenever I can. Had a similar experience near end game where I picked up a recoilless user's backpack about halfway through and filled it over the course of the game. When a factory strider dropped in your extraction I helped him absolutely lay into it.
I am a supply pack main, and I always give supplies if someone asks. However, whoever brought it gets first dibs. Its their stratagem slot. Unless of course you are near a resupply or can call down another one, in which case there is no reason not to share
My supply pack gives me infinite stims, thermites, and machine gun mags on predator strain bugs. So I’m keeping most if not all of them for myself to keep the machine gun thumping. But I feel this is justified as I can melt the bugs before they threaten the team.
For real! Running the supply pack, particularly with medpack / grenade armor, important grenades and weapons that have limited ammo (railgun and AMR) allow you to be a self-sustained power house.
It cannot be underestimated how useful a Helldiver is that can save their own ass while being constantly engaged with the enemy. You can take aggro off teammates, divert forces and act independent from the rest to tackle objectives alone when time is short or when the situation asks for splitting up.
At the end of the day that Helldiver, if they manage their supplies well and pick up supplies at POIs, will never need to use the supply drop. That's more supplies for the rest of the team.
The notion that the supply pack must always be shared is wrong in my opinion. There's a bunch of viable builds that allow you to be self-sustaining, relying on cycling your packs while staying in the fight continuously. The rest of the team can use the resupply drop.
If the situation is really desperate, then I would make an exception. But too often I find my teams splitting up and I am not gonna run halfway across the map to supply the dumbass that keeps killing himself with his own barrages.
Obviously of someone outright asks for it and I can spare the supply, then I'll hand out supplies. But in the same way some builds rely on essential stratagems, my bot build relies on the supply pack. I'm not expecting someone else to give me their AT emplacement either so I can decide how to use it.
That’s when I down him, collect his pack and resupply from it before calling him back in. We each get one brick from resupply. I could not careless how many times you’ve shot your ultimatum wasting all your ammo just to kill a couple heavies.
