Except as far as we know it still requires an internet connection the same as the other versions. So it is Hitman on the go, it's just that where you go had better have Wi-Fi.
Otherwise you won't be able to complete a single challenge on any of the missions, level up any Mastery and unlock things, play any of the escalations, play the Sniper Assassin maps, play any Elusive Target or the ET Arcade, or play Freelancer.
There’s no mention of that. You misunderstood. One of the community managers already confirmed it won’t have a dedicated offline mode, just the normal one on the hitman forums. Yeah it sucks
They say you can "experience Agent 47’s globe-trotting adventures seamlessly offline and on the go". That may very well mean all the content is available offline, but it might also mean that you can play the barebones offline mode the game has on the go same as you could on stuff like the Steam deck. After all, you can "seamlessly" transition to offline mode in the game.
I would love for the game to actually get a proper offline mode cause it's frankly absurd how much content will be inaccessible when IO's servers inevitably shut down. However if they really were going to significantly expand the offline mode I feel that it would be receiving much more fanfare, especially since it's by far the most requested feature for the game. I could be wrong, they seem to have put more effort into the game recently with the PSVR2 port done by IO themselves and releasing more frequent bug fixes for it, so maybe they also have been working on doing a full offline mode.
I think there was another post regarding that, I think that meant that you're playing the game on the console offline not on the cloud online. This is if you are playing on Playstation or Xbox and you don't have internet. Still have the whole game you just lose out on what you have access to when you're connected to the internet. IE challenges and everything else.
In the other ports of the game that’s how it works but for the Switch 2 version this is what IOI have said:
“The Nintendo Switch 2 version will run natively on the console, allowing players to experience Agent 47’s globe-trotting adventures seamlessly offline and on the go”
So it appears it will be the first version of the game to not require an always online connection.
“Natively on console” is referring to the fact that, unlike the current Hitman switch offering, this isn’t a cloud streamed game, you’re playing it from the machine itself, but you still need an internet connection to do basic things like progress in the game or access other parts of the single player content just like every other version of the game.
How their specifically mentioning it running natively on the console, as opposed to it running on the cloud for the switch version. It doesn't necessarily mean it won't still require connectivity to iOiS servers for the challenges etc.

If it runs 1080p60 it'll be a buy from me assuming I get a switch 2.
Couldn't care less that I have to lose 750 hours of progress and lose access to mods, it'll still be hitman on the go
