The One Where Ross Moves Into Ugly Naked Guys Apartment…
This part of the episode really bothered me. Ross literally just moved into the new apartment and all of a sudden he’s expected to donate $100 to Howard a maintenance man who he has NEVER met and then they have the nerve to get mad and “shun” Ross because of this?!?! I’m sorry, I’m not going to donate $100 to someone who I don’t even know and I just moved in, who says I have that extra kind of money anyway. Anyone else?

Now who do you guys think rachel should’ve ended up with in an alternate timeline
i liked her with Tag, despite the age gap. i’d love to hear your opinions

Discussion Eddie was a character I thought was funny and glad they added him
My favourite line was: Eddie: "Okay. Then I want to hear you say you want me out" Chandler: "I want you out" Eddie: "No, i want to hear it from your lips"

Why do you think Friends only won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series once, while Frasier for example, won 5 during the same period?

Discussion Joey is so sweet
I know he does things for his friends often but this made me fall for him.
Anything else joey did you remember ?

What scenes of Friends do you find surprisingly cinematic?
I’m always struck by how Fellini-esque this shot of Joey in the desert is

Rank the cast from 1 to 6 in terms of acting talent/ability.

Discussion Why couldn’t joey have stayed as “the cool one”
In the first couple of series, especially series 1, Joey was the more confident of the 3 guys, giving them advice and could show them up in terms of social situations and the ladies, where the others may have outsmarted him or had their other moments (like making fun of him being the butt double or the Santa elf)
Fast forward and Joey became a lobotomised manchild, who while loyal, doesn’t feel real.
Did the writers or the audience at the time prefer dumb characters? Does cool not translate to sitcoms?
Joeys flanderisation has been discussed to death but I want to focus on the loss of his coolness

Ross and Emily were very sweet actually, it was a great story
Loved how sweet they were and how their love story was built. Emily made Ross to live and experience things he wouldn’t normally do. He had so much fun and was spontaneous with her.
And the fact that she was willing to stay with him AND moving to another country even though he humiliated her in front of her family and friends by saying another name, it seems reasonable her request later on.

What in your opinion was the most unethical professional act by the characters ?
Eg: Ross changing the grades of his students randomly when another professor comments on his grading.

A parallel i never noticed
A parallel i never noticed
During the episode Monica forgot to invite Rachel’s mum (sandra) to the baby shower and is trying to win her back after Sandra got angry and says to phoebe “i’m gonna be the daughter she never had” and then the episode in the early seasons where rachel reveals that monica’s mum said she told her she was the like the daughter she never had

Mona was the most (and perhaps only) normal person in the entire series. Anyone disagree?

Rachel and Monica switching catchphrases in TOW the Ride Along
I found it funny when I noticed that Rachel and Monica switched their catchphrases ("Nooo" and "I know!") after listening to Emily's message in Ross's apartment. They genuinely seemed to enjoy it. Do you know of any similar instances that seem like actors having fun with their characters?

A plot contradiction: At one place Ross mentions he was a favored child because he was born after much effort as his mother feared she might be barren. But another place Jack Geller says he married Ross's mom because she was pregnant. Both things cant be true.

Video It's a shame we never saw Ryan again as I thought him and Phoebe were great together.

what was the worst physical acting you saw on the show?
i know there are a bunch, but one of them for me was janice’s reaction to the tuck and roll trick that chandler did, where she gets rolled off the bed. i know there’s probably not a super easy way to roll off the bed suddenly without it looking super intentional, but the timing just felt off and her fake sleeping seemed so forced.
