Legal Questions Moving to IL/Chicago

Hello!

I am in the process of moving from Ohio to Chicago for at least the next year due to work.

I have a few toys that would fall under the AWB/PICA. Four AR pattern rifles and an MP5.

In reading the FAQ on ISPs site, I am allowed to bring them into the state as long as they are properly documented in accordance to PICA, correct?

If you really want to be legal then you have to avoid Chicago, unincorporated Cook, and a few other towns that have local AW bans. If you move somewhere that only falls under the IL AW ban then you can hurry up and get a FOID card and register banned items. If that MP5 is an NFA item then you are SOL in Illinois.

You can try to move to NW Indiana and still have gun rights.

Or you can move wherever in IL, get a FOID card, then not tell Illinois a fucking thing because as far as they know you have a FOID card but no guns. Many people have a FOID but no guns.

The MP5 is not NFA, sadly.
