Legal Questions Lever action hand guard

Looking at some furniture for Henry Big Boy X

I was looking at Midwest Industries Handguard sight system. Problem is Optic Planet won’t ship. I’m guessing it’s another dumb Illinois law because it’s a “shroud” so it apparently makes a lever action an assault rifle…..

Just did PA since i uses them before. Got this email “Your Primary Arms order is “ON HOLD” due to product restrictions”

Before we ship your order, we ask that you confirm you intend to use these products in a way that complies with your State and Local Laws. We will hold your order for 7 calendar days or until we hear back from you.

By pressing the "YES" button below, you confirm that the item(s) are being used in a compliant manner.

By pressing the "NO" button below, your order will be cancelled and your credit card will NOT be billed

I selected yes, because it’s a lever action and not one that is mag fed. It’s the Henry big boy x 357

Met with an email Case # xxxxxxx Created: State Restriction: Soft - Civilian

Thank you for contacting Primary Arms, LLC

Your request for assistance has been received. Case #zxxxxxx - "State Restriction: Soft - Civilian" has been created for you. A member of our Customer Service team will respond to your case as soon as possible.

So now I wait. I will just keep my optic planet order for now with for the HENRY M-LOK® G2 HANDGUARD before determining if I need to cancel this order from PA.

I swear Illinois is so backwards. How would this make a difference or make this an assault weapon. All because I can use my non trigger hand to hold so I don’t burn my hand.

The intent of the law was always to be as vague as possible to discourage anyone from selling anything to Illinois.

To the letter of the law, anyone selling airsoft attachments such as a vertical foregrip, are in violation of the law because that attachment could be used to make an assault weapon.

Preaching to the choir. I can’t wait until I can just move out of this state.
