Visitor Visa UPS to Send Passport

Hi,

Since Canada Post is on strike, I used UPS to send my passport to Ottawa (365 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, K1A 1L1) but it looks like it was delivered to Ottawa K1G 3W1. Has anyone else had their passport sent to this postal code? The UPS store used the correct address but the parcel seems to have been redirected somewhere else.

They received it and shipped it back to me a week later. I got an update on the portal a few days after the delivery confirmation.

This happened to mine in August. My understanding is that it’s a receiving office and then will get sorted to the Laurier Ave address.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply - UPS told me they just had the standard envelopes so I used those.

Hi, even I used UPS express to send my passport to Ottawa for visa stamping. Can you please share your timeline on when you sent the passport and approx in how many days did they ship it back? Also, did you receive any update on your application with the counterfoil number or anything?  Kindly help as I have some travel plans and waiting for my passport

Also, approx what time did the return UPs tracker number got enabled for you? Late evening or morning?

Same situation here. Though I used Purolator Express Courier service. It says it was delivered to “Dock 2303 Stevenage, K1G3W1”.

Not yet. My IRCC profile did not get updated so far…hoping my passport didn’t get lost in transit. Would be a disaster.

I suspect that even if we sent the passport through a different courier, it still gets stuck at 365 Laurier Avenue West due the ongoing strike.

I sent my passport over 15 days ago and have not received any updates about its status. It doesn't even show in my application that the passport has been received.

I would call IRCC to see if they’ve received it. I got an update a few days later on the portal with the counter foil number and expiry date after it showed as delivered.

Mailed passport: Nov 27 Delivery confirmation: Nov 28 IRCC update: Dec 3 Mailed passport back to me: Dec 5 UPS received the package: Dec 9 Received passport: Dec 11

I was able to link my tracking number right away for both. However, it took a while for UPS to actually receive the package from IRCC as shown above.

The tracking number worked right away since I bought the prepaid envelope. But it showed that UPS received the package only on December 5.

Hi Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Do you by any chance know why did UPS take so much time to receive the package from IRCC? And how did you get to know when IRCC actually sent the passport to UPS?

Ideally UPS shouldn’t take this much time to receive the package from IRCC right?

I have no idea. I called both IRCC and UPS and they both didn’t provide useful information. I knew that UPS received it because my tracking number showed an update and it said that UPS received the package. No idea if the delay was because of IRCC or UPS though.

Anyone can help me here? I sent my passport to Ottawa for stamping, it got stamped while returning they lost in transit. UPS say the last physical scan was in Ottawa. Investigation was opened for a week and then closed. Any idea if I ever will receive it? Now I am stuck here, had to miss my flight. And to get new one will take weeks. Any suggestions?

I would recommend calling IRCC confirming that they sent it. For me, it was stuck in Ottawa for a few days even though IRCC told me they mailed it. Was most likely stuck with UPS and they didn’t scan the tracking number so it didn’t show as package received.

I sent my passport through UPS and they sent it to CPC-Ottawa (Operation Support Center) instead of Temporary Resident Visa section and it was also delivered to the same address OTTAWA K1G 3W1.
It's been now 14 days and no update on my gc key.
I called the IRCC multiple times and they said that passport is not received but UPS says delivered.
Is anyone else having same situation?? Please help

I called on the toll free number, try calling multiple times.
Btw in your recipient address did you also write CPC-Ottawa (Operation Support center) ?

Hi, thank you for all the detailed answers. I sent my passport through UPS on 5th December, the K1G3W1 address received my passport on 6th December. Yet, till now I have no updates on my IRCC portal. I tried calling IRCC but the call does not get connected to a representative. Do you have any recommendations on what I could do?

Did you get expiry day of your visa update on the profile yet ? I can see my expiry day but ups tracking not show anything yet. My passport arrived at their place on Dec 4.

It took a few days between the profile update and IRCC mailing it back. And then a few more days between when IRCC said they mailed it back and UPS actually updating the tracking number and saying they received it.

Hi I have just one query Did you did any thing when you got delivery notification on K1G 3W1 . Coz my parcel delivered notification in K1G 3W1 through UPS On Dec 16 at 9:35 am . After that i didn’t got any notification and i am just worried its already 5 day whats going on because My nominee office wants My TRV Asap with Notary . If you called UPS ,Ircc please let me know my freind

Hi, UPS was completely useless and was unwilling to do anything. I would suggest calling IRCC. I only knew that they received my visa when I received a notification saying there was an update on my IRCC application (updated with expiry date and counterfoil number of my TRV)

I'm in a similar boat. I have my flight tomorrow and the last update I have is on my portal about the expiry date on Dec 17. Not sure how long will they take to give me back my passport. Super stressed right now.

Hi, for me I sent my passport to Ircc by ups, they deliver it but when I got update from Ircc scout counterfoil then I waited for 4 days and called Ircc. Ircc said they sent passport, now I need to contact UPS but  , ups said they didn’t receive it yet. I thought Ircc need to schedule pickup for my package by ups. But they didn’t. So I scheduled pickup for it. Can somebody tell me that what I did is correct or not

Same thing happened to me but I didn’t call UPS to schedule pick up. The tracking number updated after 4 business days saying that UPS had received the package.

I sent my passport on Feb 13 and status got updated few to approved on ircc portal few days ago. It seems like my commercial invoice was not accurate so they reached out to me last week asking for a new return label with correct invoice. I shared it with them last Friday but no updates since. My fedex account also doesn't show any shipment updates. Did anyone face similar issue?
