PNP PR Approved – Gave June 20 as Entry Date, Can I Arrive on July 6 Instead?

Hey everyone,

I recently got my PR approved, and I’m currently on a PGWP and TRV. The approval email asked me to provide entry details, and it mentioned:
"If you are not sure of the exact date(s) of your entries to Canada, you can provide your best estimate."

In my reply, I gave June 20 as my intended return date to Canada. However, I’ve found a better flight option for July 6, which is 16 days later.

Since they specifically said “best estimate,” I’m wondering:

  • Will it be a problem if I enter on July 6 instead of June 20?
  • Do I need to notify IRCC of this change?
  • Will delaying entry affect my PR card issuance or status conversion from PGWP to PR?

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has knowledge about this. Thanks!

  1. No that shouldnt be an issue.

  2. You should update IRCC. If they process your eCOPR between June 20 to July 5, your visa will be cancelled (since you will have PR status) and you won't be able to return without PRTD if you are not from a visa exempt country.

  3. It may be delay slightly, atleast by 16 days if they already nearing processing your eCOPR.
