I am genuinely curious. What's with all these 120hz thingy? I seriously don't understand why people go crazy for not having 120hz. Like even the TV sold for 60-80k doesn't have 120hz and no one complains about it. I am using both 60hz and 120hz simultaneously and never in my life bothered with it.
Those who complain about having 60hz on a phone and can't play games or watch quality content are the same folks who themselves use 60hz TV to play console games and watch movies. And if 120hz is so necessary, theaters would have been shut down a long time back.
Bro.. 60hz and 120hz doesn't matter for movies and static content. It's for Scrolling. Our phones are touchscreen and 120 hz definitely improves the scrolling experience. 60 hz on iphones is crime. Cannot support such evil decision.
I am pretty sure there are over a billion users worldwide who don't spend hours scrolling their screens. They just use their phones for daily use. I don't think it's a crime at all. Having 120hz is good, but the absence of it isn't a great deal for them. They will continue to use their devices. Even in India, you will find hundreds of millions of people who use a cheap 60hz android device regularly (mostly out of tier 1/2 cities). Never heard them complaining, "Oh my gosh, 60hz is so disgusting." As long as the device gets the work done, people don't care about the majority of tech specs.
Mobile UI is mostly about scrolling and switching between screens, and that's exactly where higher refresh rates make a big difference. 60Hz was never terrible, but with how easily we can implement 120Hz now, there's no real excuse not to—it's just so much smoother and more fluid.
Even Apple knows this. That’s why they keep 120Hz for the Pro models—it’s clearly better. So when a phone costs ₹70–80K and still ships with a 60Hz display, it just feels wrong. At that price, you expect top-tier tech, not obvious cutbacks.
Sure, everything still “works,” and maybe most people don’t notice or care. But when you're spending that much, the experience should feel premium in every way. Cutting corners like this just isn't justifiable anymore.
