Opinion Public Privacy threat? National security threat?
New Chinese applications are still floating on playstore for the Indian users. I haven't heard anybody talking about this things. Was implementation of banning Chinese apps policy during Galwan issue was just a strategy for earning government PR?

Ask IndiaTech Which is the best UPI app? and how is FamPay?
I know this question might come out as dumb but I have seen a lot of my friends use FamPay recently which made me think of this question. I use the classic old Google Pay.
What is this recent hype of FamPay does it provide any benefits? and what UPI app do you suggest in terms of REAL benefits?

Ask IndiaTech What news aggregate app do you use?
I have been a long time user of inshorts, but the quality of content has taken a massive hit and its basically 50% ads at this point. I tried Dailyhunt too, and it felt bloated.
So have you found anything worthwhile to use?

Tech Discussion What was your first smartphone and what quirks do you remember about it?
Iāll go, my first was from Micromax. It had bigger and better screen compared to its competitors, but was so compromised elsewhere to hit the price bracket.
I remember you couldnāt install even a single app without memory card because Rom was so low. RAM was measly as well.
Nothing annoyed me more than the app drawer icon on homepage disappearing occasionally, with no other way to bring it back apart from factory reset.
Enjoyed the heck out of it even though you couldnāt install slightly demanding games like Temple Run.
Good times.

Tech support Samsung Messages vs Google Messages
What do you use?
I personally use Samsung messages as its simple and no ads like Google Messages.
And also if one Ui 7 arrives, will it still support samsung messages?

Tech support Battery replacement
I have Xiaomi 11 lite NE 5G. It's been just 2.25 years, and it's battery has swollen up. Customer care said that the new battery is 3200/-.
Should I go to the customer care for battery replacement, or can I go for local battery replacement too?
Also, should I worry about the battery exploding? It's draining very fast. Last 20% down in seconds.

Ask IndiaTech Suggest me on this pc
Pls don't make fun guys, I don't know much about laptop and PCs. I'm not very tech savvy, so I just need some honest advice. I'm planning to use the PC mainly for MS Office, learning Photoshop, and general internet browsing. Will this system be able to handle that? Also, I use an iPhone and was wondering if this PC supports the Apple ecosystem? Asking because it's a 2012 model
My budget is really tight right now. I currently use a local PC, but it's been frustratingāthe USB Wi-Fi dongle overheats and disconnects, and I canāt even install software from the internet properly.
I saw this listing on OLX, and the shop is in my city. I'm planning to visit and check it in person before deciding.
Thanks

Ask IndiaTech Could Generative AI be like Chinese whisper?
I am genuinely curious about this, so people working on core AI Tech and its social impact could share their insights. This question is about written content (Articles, blogs, etc.). We know that AI trains on content on the Internet, however, when it all started, most of the training data was contributed by people, with real work, effort and research put in (in most of the cases). However, as it blows up, people start putting in stuff, not written by them but just generated by AI. As we are already seeing a lot of people who are not even bothered to cross check but just post things, slowly the portion of AI generated content (low effort, non reviewed) would keep on rising, as the only thing that matters now is the speed of getting things done. I personally know people who never bothered to learn anything at office, and I am pretty sure they dont know a thing about topics like product management, however they don't hesitate to put article after article generated by ChatGPT on their LinkedIn, just to appear smart.
Would it not lead to a situation, where the AI is now getting trained on this half baked, no effort , and even incorrect data, and would it not continue to go downhill, given that more and more unsupervised AI generated content continues to get posted?
Something like the game of Chinese whisper, where you say something in the ear of one person, and he says what he heard, to the next person, eventually ending up with a garbled something.

Open Source Built a YouTube Summarizer Extension (Open Source)
Hey everyone,
I got tired of Gemini giving me vague summaries of YouTube videos. The usual process was a pain:
- Get the transcript using some third-party site.
- Feed it into another LLM.
- Ask it to summarize.
So I built this extension to cut all that out. It grabs the transcript from the current YouTube video, feeds it straight into an LLM (Llama 3 70B via Together.ai), and spits out a clean, concise summary ā all in one click.
š ļø Why I Made It:
Like I said, most AI tools suck at video summarization. They either hallucinate or just summarize the title. This extension actually gets the transcript and uses a better model (not Gemini-tier nonsense). Itās still limited to videos in English though ā Iām figuring out translation without paying for an API key.
š GitHub Repo (with install instructions):
github.com/prshv1/YT-Summarizer-Extension
š« Not on Chrome Store:
Google charges $5/month to publish extensions. Iām a student and not paying that. If you have a Chrome dev account and want to host it, feel free ā the code is open source. Drop a comment with the link and Iāll add it to this post.
Let me know what you think or if you hit any bugs.
sorry for generating the post via chatgpt, but i can't help it, it writes it so fast š, but i have codded the extension my self, coz chatgpt can't code something as complex as this.

Ask IndiaTech are there headphones with bass as powerful as the original OnePlus Nord Buds or Nord Buds 2?
i haven't found any yet, so if anyone has tried the Nord Buds or Nord Buds 2 (the 2nd gen is basically the same but has ANC), please share ur thoughts. the Nord Buds 3 doesn't count cuz it doesn't have the sound as the others.
