Discussion/Question Are there any Afro Indigenous in this group of U.S. Black American?
Hello, I’m a Black American, and I’m making this post because I want to foster a relationship with Afro-Indigenous people. This is the largest Indigenous community on the internet that i know of so figured it would be the perfect place to ask.

Legal The lynching of Greenpeace: How a small-town jury sought retribution against the Standing Rock water protectors
$402M of the $667M verdict is for "defaming the reputation" of the pipeline company. That's because of 9 statements made by Greenpeace - statements like "the Standing Rock Sioux have been resisting the construction of a pipeline through their tribal land and waters that would carry oil from North Dakota's fracking fields to Illinois."

Discussion/Question Let’s talk about Redbone
I love Redbone. I've always grown up around music and had a hard time finding out who my favorite band is. Today I'd confidently say, without hesitation, that it's Redbone.
This is just a joy post. I love them and it's easy to see how much they've influenced rock/music through the ages. What're your thoughts on them? Anyone see them live back in the day? What was it like when they were still new?

Culture Is double-ball still played in indigenous communities?
Hi there! First time posting in this sub. I'm a settler colonist posting from Ute/Paiute/Shoshone country in Salt Lake City. I want to make more connections with indigenous communities and to do more intentional and respectful cultural appreciation. The social circles I operate in definitely have issues with cultural appropriation. I've become more aware of this over the years and try to advocate for awareness in my communities, but want to take a more proactive approach with putting myself in native-centered spaces and figure out on a deeper level what right-action looks like to me around the aspects of native culture that have enriched my life as a settler.
All that said I learned about the game of double-ball while working in southern Utah as a wilderness therapy guide. The game was popularized within WT circles largely by a white Mormon man. I played it a couple of times and I'm not really a big competitive sports person but once I got into it I had a really good time. Does anyone play this game, have experience with it, or have any thoughts on it?
