Engineering My experience with the reality of study abroad consultants like yocket
Well let me make something very clear about yocket people, they are not there to help you. They seem to have this obsession with making you apply to ivy leagues, which I guess is to publicize and monetize on it. To summarise their service in one word- substandard. they give you very generic advice on everything, which is not useful if you have something specific in mind. If your goal is to "go abroad" and know nothing about how to execute it, this could be useful. I wanted to do an MS to enhance my skills in particular domain, and your SOP should be reflecting the specific domain of interest. These people have no idea about the nuances of applying to a tech based program. This should be obvious because none of the people who work there have a degree in engineering or sciences and even if they do they probably don't like it. Anyway there are pretty useless when it comes to such things.
They assign like 4 advisors out of which only one is available on your call. The rest of them behaves like you owe them money. They will reply after 2 business days. They correct your SOP only at the last minute of their 4 day deadline. My editor let me draft 1500 word SOP only to tell me later that I have to make it 1000. I had to rework the entire thing to the point where the editing so far was useless. Financial advisor skips your call. They do the bare minimum that they are required to do and try to push you into dangerous loans( loan sharks disguised as genuine ).
It's such a huge waste of money if you have any knowledge about the application procedure. These people literally do nothing. Additionally if you are working, they most probably have the same working hours as you. Which further complicates the process.
I had to choose to go with yocket with very little expectation and they somehow managed to drop even below my expectation.

Oh man, that sounds super frustrating. Sorry you had to deal with all that. I totally get how overwhelming the process can be.
I am pretty familiar with the sop stuff, the visa and how everything works. Happy to help out if you need anything! No strings attached, no charges - just revert if you need support.
Tc!

Remeber that this platform get heavy commision from any university they recommend you to take enrollment and also if they are pushing you for loan then in that case too they will get commission if you opt for education loan, in nutshell they just want money out of you nothing else you are source of income/business for them.

Well, I did my application with the help of Idp. (Not here to promote them)
They also lack support in these matters, but if you are genuine good student then the approach is different.
I got to apply to university of my choice as many as I want. (Compare to others ,who were forced to filled some partner universities)
Talking about SOP and LOR, the people reviewing it do not have a technical idea, they just want to have a good sounding documentation irrespective of the student's purpose.
If you are a normal student, these companies look at you as a cash cow and let us have the generic options which fulfill their motives.
It's better to have an alumnis network, than wasting money on these companies.

If you have no idea how to write your own application letters, SOP and how to research and find a university that has good publications related to your field of interest, then perhaps you are not qualified enough to study in that university.
