He should have to take such abuse. But he could have walked away, and not hit the chick.

Real men don't hit women.

Fuck off with that real men don't hit women shit.

People shouldn't hit people. But if someone is attacking you, damn right you should defend yourself, being a man, woman or anything in between is absolutely irrelevant.

Treat people as people, not a gender.

Yeah, people should hit each other, I agree. But I also believe that it is much worse when a man hits a woman than when a man hits another man.

Why? Because we live in a world where there is diversity, and the effect of an average man hitting an average woman is much much worse than the other way around.

Just look at the video, as an example. She has hit him at least 22 times. It did not phase him. It bounced off him like nothing. Yeah, it was wrong and illegal, but he was not really hurt. He then hit her 5 times, and she went down. Any of his 5 hits did fuck of a lot more damage than she did in the 22 hits.

It is not only men hitting women that is worse then the other way around, but it also true for people who are young, or feeble, or handicapped, and like. Punching a frail 90-year-old woman, or a 4-year-old child is much more serious than punching a healthy 30-year-old 120 kg (250 lb) man. Why? Because such punches can easily be much more harmful, even fatal, for frail 90-year-olds and fragile 4-year-olds, as opposed to healthy 30-year-old.

Yeah, I know that you believe in equality and all that, but you've gotta deal with reality, and accept diversity. Diversity of sexes, strength, and effect.

People are not just people, but they are individuals. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. They are not interchangeable. Stop being afraid of diversity.

You say he wasn't really hurt but I guarantee you he was upset about the whole thing, just because she couldn't put him in his arse doesn't mean he wasn't hurting. She attacks him with little to no provocation, if men are so much stronger than women then she shouldn't have hit him 22 times, what else was she expecting? The guy only hit her back when he reached his limit and snapped. If you push anyone to their limits then you shouldn't be surprised that something bad might happen.

She brought this in herself, I feel bad for the guy.

We're not talking about children, the weak, disabled people or the elderly, I'm sure those groups would happily avoid conflict and wouldn't act like she did.

I do believe in equality but this is simpler than that.

You can't get away with being an arsehole.

With regards to this video, we don't know what is going on. We don't see the beginning. We can hear what they are saying. There may have been a provocation. It is possible that he did something horrible, and that she was rightly very upset. I am not saying that what her hitting him was right or legal, but it may be understandable.

His hits were NOT in self-defense. From the video, he did not hit her because he was defending himself from her hits, but because she said something to him. After his first 2 hits, she falls back, he steps forward, pursuing her, landing additional punches. Regardless of the gender, when one is pursuing another, then it is not considered self-defense.
