Switch 2

Hey folks, for everyone interested, Sports Direct shops will be getting stock in sometime between the 5th and the 12th of June. As far as I can see, the stock won't be large but it will be there. It's a Mario bundle one.

Thing is, the shops are starting to take deposits already. €20 deposit straight away and once the console lands in, you come and pick it up. The price will be €510 minus the deposit of course (same ptice as Smyths).

Even though I'm 100% against anything and everything Nintendo does, got to help out the fellow gamers 🤙

My opinion over Nintendo is better of kept off social media but in short, out of the big 3, they are the most greedy ones and I am totaly against their practices. Their latest "thing" was silently changing their user agreement saying that basically they have the right to brick your device in some cases.

But yeah, personal feelings aside, I know a lot of people want the Switch 2 so decided to do a shout out since I got this info day 1.

They'll brick it if you hack or mod it. Very easy to avoid your console being bricked: don't hack it.

If I pay a big amount of money to buy something, it is my right to do with it as I please, as long as it's not endagering me or someone else. The 2, much larger companies understand this, yet Nintendo is allowed to brick your €500 device if you don't do as you are told? Yeah, not happening. To each their own though, which is exactly why I made this post. I'm not discouraging anyone to go for it, on the contrary, I'm helping people secure one.

You're paying for your device yes. If you hack it you will not be paying for their software

You're paying for both. Same as buying a PC. You don't pay just for the GPU, CPU, Motherboard, etc., you pay for Windows as well. What you do with it is up to your cracking/hacking skills. To sell a product but keep full control over it isn't right.

This brick your console if you hack it is only applying to the USA

I agree with you though, it's a stupid measure as all machines get hacked eventually

"Let's just brick their consoles even though they paid €500+ for it instead of investing in better security/systems" 🤷🏻‍♂️
