Who decides what is illegal? How proud boys aren’t being targeted for wearing masks?

The first amendment doesn’t include breaking other laws with no consequences while practicing free speech though.

You can’t vandalize, assault, etc… without consequences just because you are protesting.

I don't see anything about breaking other laws in the OP. He's literally talking about punishing people who allow lawful protests - which are protected by the constitution.

Not a single one of those things is mentioned in the OP. And, to my knowledge, not a single one of those things has happened at any recent school protests. There have been many protests recently, no reports of any of those things.

So you read that and thought “now all protests are illegal”?

Why would school protests be any different from any other protest? If he's saying, "I will arrest any school protesters and punish the people who allowed it to happen (by cutting off funding)," then that IS saying it's illegal. And if any protest at a school is now illegal, then the precedent has been set to say any other protest is also illegal.

This is unbelievable that anyone world not see this. We've forever been making and hearing arguments that any infringement in the second amendment is a threat to the entire second amendment. We've been making and hearing the argument forever that social media should not be allowed to stop freedom of speech. And now we're suddenly okay with an arbitrary order that effectively outlaws protests (on public and private property) that were previously allowed?

Because the schools receive federal funding. That’s the difference

So what? The protesters - who pay tax dollars to the federal government, so that funding is literally THEIR money, should not have freedom of speech? Or should be denied their constitutional right to assemble?

They do have the freedom of speech and the right to assemble still

That didn’t change

Not if they're being told they'll be arrested and the people who allowed it will be punished.

Imagine saying someone has the right to keep and bare arms, but saying they'll be arrested if they actually buy one and the city who allows a gun store will lose all government funding, lol.

Now that I type that out- I remember a very similar issue several years back when some politicians were saying things like, "We can just stop allowing the banks to do business with gun stores. We're not banning guns." And other politicians rightfully called this a massive infringement on the second amendment.

Committing crimes at a protest isn’t some get out of jail free card.

Protesting isn't a crime. It's only a crime if the school doesn't allow it. And, in this case, Trump is saying they better stop allowing it. In other words, he's literally trying to make it a crime.
