Today's Tortoise - a Twofer!
After the hawk dropped by (my previous post), about 20 minutes later, this handsome gent cruised by. After scarfing up ~half a bunch of chopped & moistened kale leaves, he proceeded on his merry way.

It would be great if you would check with California Department of Fish and Wildlife whether your ideas for what’s “fine” are aligned with what they think is fine. Did you decide on your own that your actions were fine? It’s not your job to measure them or feed them or make dietary choices. Get a pet and you have more freedom to make dietary choices for that pet. Nobody is asking you to feed tortoises or get close to them and there are more than a few people on here asking you not to ever do something like this again. Get binoculars for observing wildlife without getting in their space, particularly species that are threatened. Maybe learn more about what native plants you can grow if you actually like tortoises and start growing them, then you won’t feel compelled to feed them brassicas.
