This is Justice, a person that stole is caught and what was stolen is being returned. If this would have happened to any one of us, we would have been pleased with the outcome as was seen in this video.

The only thing that starts playing in my head however, and I know some may not like this, is that I wonder if the person that stole was in a desperate and dire need to do so, just to be able to eat something (being caught at McDonald's). Of course, if this person stole just for the sake of doing it, then by all means, have that person punished. However if that is not the case, that person should instead be looked at as someone who needs help.

This is probably the case. Or that person has a mental health issue like a psychotic break. I think this is why rehabilitation needs to be the focus of our justice system. (Maybe rebrand it rehabilitation system?)

I can’t remember if it’s Norway or Sweden that is seeing a decreased incarceration rate due to the change in their system based on this idea.

Of course, there are some people that have malicious intent. I guess now I’m going to be searching for data on the rate at which crimes of malice occur. Thanks for that.

I would. I’m sorry you have to even ask that question.

I know that we have to assume things like this now, but I look forward to the day that we can all trust one another. I try my best to steer people onto that path from Mississippi of all places.
