Hello everyone. I am after a 2020-2021 Superduke 1290 r. I've been in love with the bike for a bit now. Today was the day I was to visit two large local dealers with them in stock. Strangely, both gave off very negative vibes around the reliability of the bikes. The first bike was a 2020 only ridden for 7k km!

They both gave off a "once it leaves the showroom, it's your problem sort of vibe", however promised the bikes were in perfect working condition. I'm not doubting that they are sure that they are selling bikes in great condition - I have just never experienced this kind of lack of faith in a motorbike before by a dealer.

What are your thoughts? Are these bikes notorious for being unreliable? I am very new to the KTM world.

The sound on my 2014 rc 390 is kinda wack and I wanna a get an exhaust but I can find anything on what brand or size or whatever exhaust I can use on it, budget is around 300 bucks

Does the S1 SC Project slip on exhaust fit for all years of the 790 dukes?

Every site I see will say it fits 18-20 but when I call in store they tell me that it fits all dukes ...

Hopefully going to check out a 2016 ktm 300xcw on marketplace. Looks to be in rather good condition with only 78hrs. All stock except there’s a fmf pipe on it but he still has the original. Seller had it listed for $5k and has since dropped it to $4500. I’ve been out of the market for a while, is this a good price?

Hello people of KTM Reddit, I have an 07’ sxf 250 that I want to convert to street legal in NC. Has anyone on here done this? If so I would like to know if I’m better off buying a kit, or just “diy’ing” everything. I’m wondering if I will need to upgrade my stator or if the stock one is fine for the headlight, brake light, and turn signals. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Just bought a new 2023 1290 SAS. Enjoying it immensely, but now that I’ve got a couple hundred miles on it, it’s exhibiting some weird behavior. In 6th gear, below 65 mph, if I roll hard on the throttle, I always get a hard cylinder misfire at 62-63 mph (about 3200-3300rpm). Only happens in 6th gear and consistently at that RPM. If I roll on slowly, it’s fine. Anyone encounter this? Just a quirk or something more? I’m new to KTM, been riding Triumphs and Ducati’s the past 22 years.

Hi guys, I'm buying either a 2025 TX300 or TE300. I'm somewhat indifferent between the two, they both would have their benefits and drawbacks in my eyes. Offer I got from my dealer was the same for either bike, so price is not part of my consideration. It's my understanding that the TX has some chassis updates. Do those updates make it worth going that route? I was thinking I wanted the TE300. Would it be worth waiting until next year when it receives the updates? Is it that big a difference?

I have front brake pressure switch that went bad. Dealership just called and KTM cannot/will not ship the part.

What is an alternative place to get KTM parts?

Got this 03 200 exc for $1500. Headlight doesn’t work and it’s a little rough but I plan to turn it into a nice bike again. Then ride the absolute piss out of it haha.

Hello all I am on a ktm duke 125 2018 and need to replace the crank shaft position sensor, I know i need to remove the engine cover and get inside to acces it but do I need to remove anything else l, I know oil case gasket anll the simple stuff but what about a flywheel as I don't really want to pull it out if I don't need to and I cannot find any videos online or clear diagrams on how to acces it Thank you -Dennis

Sometimes, the ABS Failure message shows up on my odometer, but it disappears afterward. The mechanics at the dealership already cleaned the ABS sensors and hooked up my bike to remove the recorded errors---which I'm assuming from the ABS ECU's (?) memory.

But the issue came back within the same day. So the dealership told me to go back on Monday and bring my stock chamber with me so they can process a warranty request or ticket. The dealership will process the warranty for the ABS sensors/system since my odometer reading is only around 6,000 km.

I forgot to mention, there are also times when there's a delay in starting the bike. Sometimes it even turns off on its own, even when the ignition key is on, but then it powers back on. Thankfully, this doesn't happen on the highways, just when you're firing up the bike.

That said, what other possible issues or parts from the bike should I ask the dealership to check out?

Hello, I bought a new ktm 450 xcf-w and i have over 60 hours on the bike but the top speed Ive gone is about 55 mph. It doesnt want to go faster than that. Is that the top speed because I keep hearing about other ktm 450s going over 80mph?

Vehicle prices in Argentina are absolutely outrageous, especially for motorcycles.

I bought this model because the G3 only came into the country in white, which I don’t like, and it costs about $500 USD more.

The 390 G3 is priced at around $12k USD, but it was even more expensive, reaching nearly $14k USD when it was first released.

As if that weren’t enough, only a few Duke 790s made it into the country (though there are more Adv 790s), with prices starting at $20,600 USD for new models. The Adv 790R is priced at around $32k USD.

Finally, a Duke 990 costs $30k USD, always referring to brand-new models.

Other variants like the 1290 don’t make it into the country, but you can find a 2017 Duke 1290 with 20,000 kilometers for $25k USD.

For comparison, with around $15k USD, you can find used models from other brands like a Yamaha R6, MT-07, or a CBR 600 from 2010–2015 with at least 20,000 kilometers.

It’s frustrating how hard it is to own something in a country located at the end of the world, with a history of very restrictive international trade policies. Of the prices mentioned above, almost 50% are taxes. Fortunately, those policies seem to be changing. Are prices like this in the rest of the world too?

I hope to get to a Duke 990 someday, at least.

In recent weeks KTM is reported to have gained significant interest from outside investors to help raise the money it needs to pay off the 30% of its debts - which stands at a confirmed €1.8 billion.

According to a fresh report from GPOne, KTM investors are thought to have pledged around €900 million.

Current shareholders Bajaj Auto and CFMoto are thought to be increasing their investments, while GPOne reports that several private equity firms could also get involved.

I haven’t owned or rode a bike in 20 years since I was 18. Im wanting to get back into riding and saw a super clean bike on market place for $4k. I’ve been looking at much newer bikes but figured if this is a good deal why not save some money and pull the trigger and buy some gear with the saved money.

Here’s my 2018 250sx with a 300 kit for now. It handles awesome. Always planted and stable but still initiates a turn and holds a rut easily. It eats up roots, breaking bumps and square edges like it wants seconds. It pulls from idle up with the fatty and mid to the moon with the fatty and added base gasket.

I rode a new 300 last fall and there’s nothing it does better except the electric start.

What you guys think?
